Narrow bands of caramel leather, each one stitched into fine ridges, climb the ankle in a cage that is laced up the front through gold tone rings and finished with metal tipped cotton cords. A back zip makes them easy to put on, and the peep toe lets the foot show where the straps leave off. The heel is the most inventive part of the shoe: a slender gold tone blade with a cream inlay cut in a stepped pattern, which gives the silhouette a sculptural quality from behind.
